To anyine else, he'd just be studying as always with the book covering his face. But the book covered the tired look in young Light Yagamis eyes; he hadn't slept in days. And for good reason..
'Why can't they understand..' he thought to himself, gazing at his gloved hands. 'I need to keep these on. No one else knows what I have!'

Kyouko had entered the library to check out a few books she may need for the next few weeks. While some may have thought she was in a set back for not having any magic, she knew magic could only take one so far. She had picked up a book and was looking for a table where she noticed a boy at one. She doubted if she should ask to sit at the same table at first. However, given how she would most likely run into the boy at times for the next year, she figured it better to ask.
"Excuse me." Kyouko started calmly, hoping she wouldn't catch him off guard, "Would it be alright if I sit here with you?"

"What?!" he snapped out. "What do you -" He stopped at her just as equally startled look , softening his face a bit before nodding to the chair next to him. 'just study quietly.' he prayed in his head. 'Please..please...' |

Kyouko frowned a bit before she sat down. Part of her thought it was out of surprise due to how she suddenly spoke up. But the look in his eyes...it made her wonder if something else was up. Course, she didn't have any clues or anything of the matter. So she couldn't make a true calm yet. Something her grandfather taught her growing up.
"Thank you." Kyouko said, "And my apologizes if I scared you."
Even if she didn't show it, she did mean her apology.
