Natsu was running in the halls as quickly as he could. Students have been signing up for classes today and he remembered how his mother talk to him about certain classes. He didn't get why through. The pink haired boy figured the classes on combat, magic, and fighting would be more than enough. After all, a great wizard needed to be the best in battle to protect people. What other type of classes would he need?
He soon arrived to the classroom Mirajane's class was in. He started to open the door.
"Hey!" Natsu said cheerfully with a huge grin on his face, "Sorry if I am late!"

What other type of classes would he need? He soon arrived to the classroom Mirajane's class was in. He started to open the door. "Hey!" Natsu said cheerfully with a huge grin on his face, "Sorry if I am late!" Mirajane sat at her desk in her classroom, looking over a list of students that had signed up for her class. She smiled as she thought of how to handle each student. She was able to think of what exercises would be best for their other forms, but depending on their personalities, she would likely have to adjust them a bit. Not that she minded, Mirajane liked challenges...so long as they weren't too dangerous for others. Still, she would have to focus on that later. First thing she had to do, at the moment, was talk with her son about his classes. The white-haired woman looked up when she heard the door open, and smiled when she saw the fire-user. "You're just on time, Natsu." Mirajane replied to his greeting, getting up from her chair at the desk.

Natsu smiled. He walked into the room and closed the door behind him.
"Glad to hear. I thought I was going to be late." Natsu admitted. He rubbed the back of his head a bit sheepishly.

Mirajane smiled at her son. How time had flown and changed that rambunctious child that she had took in her as her own when he was left on the school's doorstep, to this eager, happy and caring young man before her. "Even if you were late, I wouldn't be too mad, you know." Mirajane said, walking over to Natsu.

Natsu smiled when he heard that. His mother always was understanding. He recalled the times he had been late for stuff in the past.
"Right, I know." Natsu said.

Mirajane smiled and gave Natsu a quick peck on the forehead, a habit from when he was a child. Since there wasn't anyone else around to see it, it was fine for her to do so.

"Hey." Natsu laughed a bit with a grin.
It didn't bother him but it tickled at times. Besides, no one was around to tease him about it.

While she was happy to spend time with her son, she had to focus on the reason she called him. "Alright, time to get to business." Mirajane said.

"Right. You wanted to go over my classes." Natsu said, trying to get back on track.
He thought the classes he had in mind would be fine.

"Right. You wanted to go over my classes." Natsu said, trying to get back on track. He thought the classes he had in mind would be fine. Mirajane just knew from the look in her son's eyes that he was gonna argue that his choice of classes was fine, but she wasn't having any of it. "Yes. Natsu, honey, you can still take those classes if you want, but you can't just focus on them alone. Fighting isn't going to solve everything, so you need to learn other things as well." Mirajane explained.

"Yeah, I know the other classes can be important based on the job a person wants. But how could some of them be useful if my goal is to become a great and powerful wizard?" Natsu asked, a bit curious.
Even with his age and the fact he pretty much lived at the school for most of his life, he was still naïve when it came to certain things.

Natsu asked, a bit curious. Even with his age and the fact he pretty much lived at the school for most of his life, he was still naïve when it came to certain things. Mirajane sighed fondly with a wry smile. She forgot that sometimes, Natsu wasn't exactly the smartest boy around, no offense meant to her son. "Well, think of it like this. What if you're fighting someone whose magic you don't know or can't understand? You need to learn about different magics and how they work if you want to be able to beat them. If all you take are fighting classes, you won't be able to learn about the different types of magic and how to neutralize them should a certain situation need you to do so." Mirajane explained.

Natsu looked sheepishly when his mother explained that. That thought never crossed his mind until now. Mirajane had a strong point in the matter at hand.
"...That's a pretty good point." Natsu said sheepishly. "Didn't think of it like that."

Natsu said sheepishly. "Didn't think of it like that." Mirajane smiled again and put a hand on her son's head to pet his hair, another habit. "I know you want to get stronger so that you can help and protect people, but strength alone isn't going to be able to do much. You need to use your head, too."

She was so proud of her little boy, even though he wasn't so little anymore. The white-haired woman idly wondered if her son would become taller then her when he became an adult. "Good boy. Now, why don't we go over what other classes you would want to take?" Mirajane suggested.

"Sounds like a plan!" Natsu exclaimed excitedly. He could hardly wait to see the idea his mother had on what classes would be most useful to him. Mirajane smiled as she walked over to her desk and picked up a list of classes that she had borrowed for the sole purpose of helping Natsu choose his other classes. "Well, I was personally thinking you would like Defense against the Dark Arts, Knowledge of Rituals and Magic Artifacts, and maybe Weapon Knowledge. Of course, if you don't want to do these, you can choose whatever ones you think. I just figured the ones I picked would be interesting enough for you not to get bored." Mirajane said, as she walked back to her son and handed him the class list.

Natsu smiled at the four she mentioned. Those sounded pretty good to him personality. And they would be pretty useful.
"They sound like a lot of fun." Natsu said.
He looked over the list to see the other classes to see what may be interesting.
"Let's see...what else is there?" Natsu mumbled to himself quietly.

Mirajane smiled as she watched Natsu ponder over which classes looked interesting to him. Hopefully, he would be able to choose a few and be able to make friends in them. While a small part of her was upset that she couldn't teach him as well, the white-haired woman took it in stride. She knew most of the other teachers well, so she was sure they would keep a close eye on him for her. Of course, she worried that he would accidentally burn something with his magic if he got too excited, but again, the teachers would keep him in check...mostly.

Natsu knew one of the last two would be combat. Through the last one was a tricky one. While he loved his magic, a small part of him wished he was a shape shifter so he could take the class his mother taught.
But he knew he would be able to see her once classes ended for the day and before classes started. Most of the other teachers were also nice. For the much part. There were time he got a few mad with his trouble making in the past.

"So far I was thinking the four you suggested and combat." Natsu answered, "I'm having trouble with the last one through." Mirajane hummed in thought, turning over each class in her head to see which one would be best for Natsu. It was best to try to find a class her son would be interested, and actually pay attention in.

Natsu knew he would be bored in more basic classes like English and Math. However, he wasn't sure if Mirajane knew ways they could help him out in the future too. Plus, there was a boot camp type of class that sounded interesting. But given how Natsu normally acted, he wouldn't least a week in it.

You can learn from the lessons past magic-users had learned or taught. Plus, I think you would like hearing about the battles and such, right?" Mirajane asked. While it may seem a bit boring to Natsu, Mirajane was sure he could learn a lot from hearing the history of magic-users who had done great things...or committed horrible deeds. At least so that he didn't accidentally commit the same mistakes they did. Hopefully, he would be able to pay attention.

Natsu nodded.
"That sounds perfect!" Natsu exclaimed with a huge grin.
Hopefully Pearl would be able to deal with the pink haired boy in her class. After all, the gem knew Natsu for years so she most likely had some tricks up her sleeves.

The white-haired woman was a bit worried that Pearl wouldn't be able to deal with Natsu in History, but the gem had known her son since he was a baby, so she was sure things would be alright. "Glad to hear. Just try to behave for Pearl, okay?" Mirajane asked.

"I will. Besides, what could go wrong?" Natsu asked cheerfully. Oh, the times that saying bite Natsu in the butt... Mirajane sweatdropped. How many times had she heard her son say that phrase, only to have it come back to bite him in the rear with a vengeance? Far too many to count. "Sweetie, something almost always goes wrong when you say that." Mirajane pointed out.
