Sly felt the ground getting weaker around him. He tried to jump out of the way while he tried to dodge some of Ruffnut's attacks.
'Guess I'm losing more of my edge than I thought.' Sly thought.
Ever since he took Tsubomi in as his younger sister, the raccoon had tried not to get into many fights on the streets. The least thing he wanted was for her to worry about him if he would return home with wounds. This fight made it clear the lost time had been catching up with him.

She spits on the ground.

"Oh trust me, I don't plan to just use my magic for this." Sly said.
He tried to get a good footing on the ground before he charged towards Ruffnut. Ready to throw some punches and kicks in opening he could see.

Ruffnut smiled as she prepared to attack him...she whistled so the gopher appeared in front her. Beneath herself.
"Come on, Tough guy. Or you are so scared to face my gopher friend?"

"Not even close!" Sly said with a smirk.
So that's what was causing the ground to get weak earlier. The raccoon knew what to keep an eye out for in case Ruffnut would try the same trick again. He tried to swing some punches towards the girl. Through made sure not to arm for the face again.

Ruffnut couldn't dodge all attacks as she received them almost full or at full-potence. She laughed amid teeth by knowing the fight had been intensified...thing she liked.
Then, she stayed on ground while make a small whistle to the gopher. It burrows again underground. "My grandma hits harder than that" taunting Sly.

"Oh really?" Sly asked teasing.
Still, he seemed to realize Ruffnut didn't seem mad about the magic he had tried to use. Something he was glad about. Sly didn't want to make any forms of trouble by mistake again.

"Edward...are you sure we should be going here? We're not supposed to come here. Dad -" Alphonse said as his brother Edward rolled his eyes.
"Oh come on Al, Mustang says that every year to scare us. We've visited once before and we didn't get caught."
"But -" Alphonse began as Ed turned to face his little brother.
"Al, if you're too scared you can go back to your dorm. I'm going." Edward said as he turned in the direction of the mines. Alphonse looked at the opposite path that leads to the school and looked at Ed, who was walking further towards the mines.
"Wait for me!" Alphonse said as he hurriedly rushed towards his older brother, following Edward, as he heard the sounds of metal clanking from his armor.

Sly's ears peaked up a bit. He could hear the sound of metal clanking and heading towards the spot he and Ruffnut were at.
'Wait, doesn't Al wear armor?' Sly thought.
He hoped Edward wasn't around. The raccoon already pissed off the blond haired boy with the short comments and other jokes Sly made when they first met. There was no telling what the shorty would do if he caught the raccoon here.
Sly was so deep in thought at he didn't realize he left a huge opening to himself.

As soon as Alphonse managed to catch up to his brother, Edward stopped walking placing a hand in front of his younger brother motioning him to stop.
"Al," Edward slowly began turning to Alphonse. "..do you hear something?"
"No," Alphonse said with a frown. "Why?" Edward frowned glancing in the direction of the mines.
"I thought I saw something in the mines." Alphonse looked at his brother in confusion.
"Could it be more students?" Alphonse asked.
"I don't know." Edward admitted confused, his confused look soon turned into a grin. "Let's find out." He said as the two began to walk closer to the mines.

Ruffnut took the chance to tackle down the raccoon, as she whistles at the animals to secure the area... She unknowns there are more company arriving, but she wanted to be sure it was no proffesor or teacher to mess around. She looked at the raccoon with victory eyes.
"Heh. It seems your agility betrays you!" she cackles while stand over her feet in arch, like trapping Sly's arms asides his body. "However, I am here just to waste time. Need to find Yugo before this night turns more weird." she walks towards the woods.
In another part, Yugo's darkside was controlling him utterly.
The Eliatrope looked on the short one and the big-armor. He was not in the mood of play games with them... As turns a bit territorial on the sudden. Thanks at the woods he could whisper dreadful words towards both.
Leave at this instant. Curse children like you is way to simple but I can always make exceptions. I'll shall eat your hopes and desires away and make your dreadful nightmares a reality.
Yugo just waited for any reaction. At least one that impulses both brothers to walk away...

Sly had let out a yell when he was tackled to the ground. He cringed a bit in pain. The raccoon was sure if he hadn't been caught off guard the battle would end differently. But the rematch could wait for another time. Sly started to stand up, making sure to grab his hook cane.
"Hey wait!" Sly called out to Ruffnut.
He ran up to her.
"Remember what I said: Even if I lost I was going to help you find this Yugo person. And a Cooper always keeps their promises." Sly reminded. "Plus...I may know who else is in the woods besides your friend and the two of us."
Sly couldn't help but wonder if it truly was the Elric brothers and if they had ran into Yugo. If so, the raccoon hoped Yugo wasn't in this dark mode Ruffnut mentioned before.

Both Elric Brothers paused in their steps frowning in confusion. While Alphonse was startled by the voice. Edward wasn't fazed at all.
"Brother...m-maybe we should go back." Edward scoffed and looked at Alphonse in disbelief.
"What..Al, you're not trying to tell me you're scared...are you?" Edward asked as Al stared at his brother who had a mischievous grin plastered on his face.
"No," Al quickly said rather nervously. "I just..." Edward looked at his brother with concern, but then got an idea, smiling before his smile turned back into a concerned look.
"Well if you're scared Al, you can just go back to the dorm. I can take care of this no problem." Edward said as he walked towards the mines once again. Al looked at his older brother worried for him as he reached nearer to the mines.
"Brother, wait up!" Al called out to Edward resuming to run towards his brother in order to catch up to him. If Alphonse looked at Edward now, he would have seen a smile on his face.

Ruffnut let the racoon help her to search for Yugo, the Eliatrope is a good person and friend to her, but way annoying when his darkside is activated. Either way, the possibilities to find out where her friend could be hide within the woods in quite impossible to tell. So, the help of Sly might be benefitial.
"Thanks" she said briefly while going inside. "Besides, you are not a bad fighter despite what I threw at you"
Yugo's darkside didn't expected the brothers continue. As the short be the bravest and the armored one more chicken. He followed them in shadows and thanks at the brushwood around. As start to say new words.
Do you dare defy me!? Each mortal generation is more foolish than the first.
I warn at you a last time, leave or face your mistake! Your desire to obtain what you need only carries destruction, grieves and dishonor; you'll never see at the one you are risking thee lifes for.
Yugo's darkside said those things refering at small writings of heroes going in the search of treasures for random reasons, He waited more from them... Yet, he wanted to use his own chaotic blasts if the two continue foolishly. In Yugo's original mind, he wanted to warn both brothers but the thickness aura of the dark didn't allow it.

Sly followed Ruffnut, making sure to watch his step as they entered the mines. The punches still hurt a bit and he didn't want to do something idiotic like slip and fall.
"It's no problem. And thanks. I gotta admit, I haven't that tough of a fight in awhile." Sly said in full honestly. "You have a lot of skills."

Alphonse took a step back startled from hearing the voice yet again. Edward noticed his brother's reaction sighing irritably.
"Damn it Al, if you're really just scared, just go." Edward snapped. "But it's pointless to leave when we're practically nearly at the mines." Alphonse looked down in guilt.
"I'm sorry brother. I don't know what's coming over me." Alphonse answered sheepishly. Edward rolled his eyes.
"Just promise me you won't continue to do it while we're inside." Edward said as they continued to walk closer to the entrance.

The darkside growled in digust as the plans to keep both brothers appart resulted in fruitless efforts; the stubborness of the most short started to be the trigger of his anger; as both continued inside, Yugo decided to plan something as soon as the subjects being inside those tunnels that might be unstable for what he heard from the folks around Lunaville; Yugo screamed from within trying to advise but his screams were just heard by the Light and himself.
Ruffnut appreciated words of Sly as they continue inside the mines. She was not sure about the limits of the same zone or have knowledge about mines; there are vikings with the office of mining and recollection of gems but she never tried such activity, being a Viking more related at the wilds than caverns. It was going to be the first time inside the mines. Thing she tried not feel new nor nearby Sly.

Sly glanced around. The two seemed to be in the safer area of the mines. The raccoon noticed crystals there at he had never seen before. The inner thief was so tempered to grab some right there and then. But there was Yugo to think about right now.

Edward and Alphonse arrived at the mines after a long walk. Edward took a look at his brother before remembering how frightened he was earlier. "You know Al, if you want you don't have to come with me. I mean if you got homework or something.." Alphonse cut off Edward from his talking.
"No, I'm coming," Alphonse said with firmness in his voice. "Besides, I think I saw a shadow inside the mines not that long ago, I think we should check it out." Edward perked up interested.
"A shadow huh?" Edward asked and then grinned to himself with his curiosity spiking. "Alright Al, let's go see what's going on." He said as they started to walk into the mines to look for whatever Alphonse saw.

Ruffnutt sighed as she accompanied the raccoon at her side, she scratches her own head and looked at him. He looked rather nice and handsome... Despite wearing as someone ready to assault someone from behind.
She reminded at her brother... Yet she had troubles in remember the good old times. Specially what happen to him after the elder intervention.
"Hey, Sly. May I ask you something?" She said with a voice almost in doubt as with fear.

"Have you ever had someone you cared mostly as he was the most important thing in your life, but turns out be the contrary?" Ruffnutt had problems to speak clearly and precise.
"What I am trying to say is..." She sighed hard
"... in the village I came from I have a brother. A twin brother. Both always do rambunctious pranks and create our own diversion, despite what villagers said at us. Until the elder did her own magic and gave at both of us something more beneficial." She paused a moment both walk and talk.
"Both obtained the wild language, the power to speak with animals. Wild animals.
But my brother didn't changed... He turns more arrogant and destructive. The elder banish him for good measures, while I was on my travel here..." Picking up a small letter from her fur coat by thrash it with both hands. "Yugo looked as new brother for his attitude. His original. The darkside is annoying but entertaining, and the lightside overprotective but welcoming" tossing the paper away
"I wanted to begin from zero without telling at him nothing about what happened with my original, but it is hard not say the truth as disguise it in lies" Ruffnutt coughed twice "I didn't meant to bother you neither I cared for the damage to made on me with your cane... I just wanted to revive those moments I had with my original. In less, I am deeply sorry"

Sly shook his head at the apologize.
"Nothing you need to apologize for. And...I admit, there was someone important to me once but...well, something happened and I ended up running." Sly started to explained. He wasn't sure how to explain the past of being a thief to live on the streets and how the person murdered someone. "I ended up going to a different town and lived on my own for a while before I met Tsubomi. She was pretty scared when we first met. But after I explained I wasn't going to hurt her, I helped her out a bit and we ended up sticking together."
He glanced at the paper Ruffnut tossed away.
"It may not have been completely same as how those events happened but I do know how it can feel." Sly said. "And how scary it can be telling someone your past."
