Sly stood in front of the doors. He had promised Ven he would check out this 'host club' and either join as a full member or see if he could help somehow. Through easier said than done. He wasn't sure how these twins would react when they saw a raccoon coming in and asking to join. And he was nervous on making a bad first impression. Still, Sly never was one to back down from a promise. He needed to at least give it a try.
He knocked on the door, hoping the two would be in the room and would hear him.
"Hello? Are the Hitachiin twins in here? I was hoping to join your club." Sly said.
He waited for an answer.

Are the Hitachiin twins in here? I was hoping to join your club." Sly said. He waited for an answer. Even though it was a slow start, the Hitachiin Twins were doing everything they could to get this club up and running by the start of school without Tamaki finding out. Currently, they were in the club room, interviewing a possible host club member. "Okay... so you want to join this club so you can talk to people more and make friends?" Hikaru asked the person he was interviewing. "And you can control sand?" The red-headed boy, Gaara, nodded. "Yes. I am still new at this, but I passed by and wanted to join. What do you want me to do?" Just then, a knocking noise was outside followed by someone wanting to join the club. And it was a new voice@ "I'll get it!" Hikaru exclaimed excitedly, "Kaoru, stay with Gaara!" He immediately ran up to the door and opened it, "Hikaru here! Please come on in and tell me about yourself!" |

He walked into the room and noticed the red haired boy was also in the room.
"Oh hi. Sorry, if this is a bad time." Sly said sheepishly.
The raccoon rubbed the back of his neck a bit. He didn't think on the possible of the two interviewing someone to join.

"Oh, alright thanks." Sly said to Hikaru. "My name is Sly by the way. Sly Cooper." He walked into the room and noticed the red haired boy was also in the room. "Oh hi. Sorry, if this is a bad time." Sly said sheepishly. The raccoon rubbed the back of his neck a bit. He didn't think on the possible of the two interviewing someone to join. Silence filled the room immediately when Sly came into view of the three people in the room... well, anyone would be silent when they suddenly see a TALKING RACCOON WITH CLOTHES WALKING IN THE ROOM! The twins had their jaws dropped open in shock and their eyes widened as they stuttered and stared at Sly. The only who seemed completely calm (if not emotionless) was the red-headed boy with shadows over his eyelids as if he were wearing eyeliner. Gaara shrugged, "No, it's alright. We were just getting started. You can join if you'd like?" Although his tone was monotone, their was a calm, acceptance to his voice. |

The raccoon noticed the looks on the twin's faces and the stuttering. It didn't take to much to figure out why.
"Guessing this is the first time you've seen someone like me?" Sly asked. He was used to reactions like that. Most folks were either shocked or surprised when they first met him. Course, Sly figured he would react the same way if he was human and one of them were an animal.

"Guessing this is the first time you've seen someone like me?" Sly asked. He was used to reactions like that. Most folks were either shocked or surprised when they first met him. Course, Sly figured he would react the same way if he was human and one of them were an animal. After a few seconds, the twins got out of their daze and smiled sheepishly. "Hold that thought please." They said in unison before they rushed to a corner in the room to talk amongst themselves in whispers. "Did a talking raccoon just come in asking to join our club?" "I mean... yeah, but how would this even work? Unless we have other species coming to this school, wouldn't it raise a lot of questions and trouble for us?!" While the twins were conversing with one another, Gaara turned to Sly. "I don't mind. Where I came from, magic users summoned creatures that could talk. It's nice to meet you." He said. Secretly since his other personality is part raccoon, it seemed that he was interested in Sly a little bit. |

He smiled a bit. Hearing the fact magic users could summon talking creatures where Gaara came from made sense to the raccoon. It explained perfectly why Gaara was much calmer than how a lot of people acted when they first met Sly. Course, Sly either couldn't hear the twins' whisper or just focused on the person talking to him at the moment. Since it would be rude to ignore Gaara.
"Oh, my name is Sly by the way. Sly Cooper. And you are?" Sly asked, realizing he didn't know Gaara's name yet.

Sly bowed back a bit. While he wasn't used to it, his younger sister mentioned it was polite to bow back if someone did so. Sly stood up when Gaara had asked on why the raccoon was there.
"Don't worry, I don't mind if you ask. And my friend Ven mentioned this club to me. I figured I would see if I could join or if there was anyway I could help out." Sly explained.

Gaara nodded, understanding. "I want to join to see if I can learn how to meet new people." Hearing what Sly said, the twins perked up a bit. Ven pulled through! It would be an odd decision, but they needed all the help they could get. They ran back to Gaara and Sly, smiling. "Sorry about that. We're glad that you guys want to be hosts, but if you really want to join, you have to prove to us you are capable of being a host." |

The twins replied, "Since we don't have guests yet, you either practice on us or on each other." "You also have to use your talents and magic in some way." Hikaru added. |

Some of the illusion magic Sly had could work. Through the raccoon wondered what all was the best way for a host to entertain someone. And since the twins didn't ask Sly anything about his magic, it could be used to surprise the two and Gaara.

"That's all we're going to tell you. You have to figure it out yourselves." Kaoru said as he set up the chairs for the mock practice. |

When everything was set up, he silently pulled out a cork from his gourd. Immediately, sand started pouring from his gourd at his silent command. The sand grabbed at one of the chair's legs, pulling it out as the red headed boy bowed and made a gesture to Kaoru to sit. "Welcome to the Arcane Host Club. My name is Gaara and I will be your host for the day." At this, Hikaru and Kaoru looked at each other in disbelief at the use of sand. "Thank you?" Kaoru said, sitting down on the chair. Gaara pushed the chair in for him before taking a seat for himself. |

Sly watched in a mix of shock and awes when Gaara used the sand. He knew of element magic but never saw it be used with sand like that before. Let alone someone who seemed to be around his age have so much control over it. The raccoon wondered what type of training Gaara could have had before arriving at the school.
However, he tried to snap out of it the best he could. Sly had to focus on what the twins said. And he could always ask Gaara about it later. Sly walked over to one of the chairs and pulled it out for Hikaru.

He then came back and sat down on the chair. "Thank you." "Any tea or something to eat?" Gaara asked. "No, I'm good. So what's a guy like you doing at a club like this?" Kaoru asked. "I wanted to meet new people here since I don't have a lot of people to call friends." "Oh, you didn't have any?" "No... so far, the only friend I have is Naruto Uzumaki. He's more... eccentric and outgoing, but he succeeds in making friends and having people trust him more than I." |

Honestly I didn't get enough sleep last night. You know you think you know a guy who seems like a stick in the mud good-looking guy only to find out that in a blink of an eye, he's scary right to the bone. This is our first time actually creating a host club and already I want to quit. It's just too much for me. Do we just pick the right guy for the job or test them? I don't know!" He stopped to pause, then said. "Just show me what you could do." |

"I'm sorry you've been going through all that." Sly said in full honestly, "But I'm sure you and your brother will do an amazing job making the club. Heck, you're already doing so from what I can tell."

"I wouldn't say that." Sly said. His ears peaked up a bit when asked about his powers. Even if he hadn't mastered it yet, Sly was pretty proud of his magic. After all, it got him and his former friend out of many stinky events before back in his home town. He couldn't help but smile as he answered, "I'm able to creature illusions."
