Name: Mabel Pines
Age: 12-13
Powers: None
Personality: At first glance, Mabel is shown to be a very optimistic, fun, and energetic girl with full of spirit. The exact opposite of her twin brother, Dipper. An optimist, who frequently known for skipping through life with a brace-filled smile and an assorted amount of hand-made sweaters. It is her outgoing and fearless curiosity that comes in handy when helping out her brother, especially solving mysteries. Despite her cute, beauty, and cheerful attitude to always look on the bright side. She can get her feelings her by rivals. Mabel also tends to avoid lying and is rather horrible trying to hide that she is, often frequently blurting out whatever it is she is trying to lie about. A typical preteen dreamer at heart, in a world full of preteen novels and magic (mostly about vampires and mythical creatures). She has a fixation of finding her one true love, that occasionally ends her up getting into situations that require her brother to help. Despite her past drama and magic all around her, she is rarely upset or angry and generally keeps a positive outlook (though this is because she hides her true feelings). Even in drastic situations, she’s also somewhat selfish. Mabel is also aware of her charm and cherishes her cuteness and beauty. However, despite all of this she does have a selfish side, particularly when it comes to boys she’s infuriated with, leading her to break promises she makes with either her brother or friends. She’s also shown to be self-righteous in her decisions, which can be far from justified or accidentally backfire in some way. However, just like her twin brother, she does have the best intentions and she will always choose the right options for the happiness of herself and others.
History: Mason and Mabel Pines were born on August 31st, 1999 in Piedmont, California to a magical and non-magical user where they had a relatively happy life for the first few years. They moved to Lunaville by the time Dipper and Mabel were three. By the time he and Mabel were five years old beginning elementary school. Both Dipper and Mabel were not very popular among the students as most of the students in their class had been mainly magic users and half looked down at them for having only one magical parent. This continued throughout the rest of elementary school and Dipper was the one being picked on the most due to his strange scar and being nothing like the rest of his family. Whenever Dipper got into a fight or if she witnesses a bully picking on Dipper, Mabel would always stand up for him, even if he didn’t want her too at certain times. She would even fight the bully if it went too far.
One day when the two were eight years old Dipper and Mabel were exploring their backyard playing while their parents watched nearby. It wasn’t until Mabel decided to dare her brother to a race to see who can race to the tallest tree in their backyard and then climb it to the top and back in less than fifteen minutes. Though she hesitated about the idea, as she knew how her brother is and feared that this would be too much for Dipper. However, Dipper accepted anyways, and the two proceeded to race. As they started to race, Dipper extended the bet by saying if he could make it to the top, then Mabel would have to do her homework and clean her room without any help, but if he didn’t, then he would have to model in Mabel’s sweaters for a week no matter how silly they looked and Dipper couldn’t bite his pens when he thought, or even complain about the bands she listen too. Once they got onto the tree, Mabel got up ahead, while Dipper struggled to get up to the top. Mabel had teased him about how Dipper wasn’t going to be able to do it, However, as soon as Mabel reached to grab onto the next branch, the branch had broken off, causing Mabel to fall down though as she neared to the ground she was saved by some strange magical aura that caused her to land up safely to the ground. She looked around and gasped when she saw her brother using telekinesis. Her parents had rushed out into the backyard to see what had happened and they too were surprised by Dipper using magic, as they thought they never would’ve seen either one of them use magic. Though Mabel was slightly jealous how her brother gained magic and she didn’t. Despite her jealousy, she helped her brother with his powers in every way she can and tried to help him whenever he was feeling down. Since that very day, the two went on and continued on with their normal lives for the next few months.
But it didn’t last for much longer as one fatal night, as he and his sister were watching television with their parents, a loud knock was heard on their door. Then the next thing they knew, they were being ordered to pack up the things they could do by their father while their mother had gone to talk to whoever’s outside. As soon as they were done Dipper and Mabel with their parents in tow, had started to run to to find the nearest taxi. When they did, Dipper and Mabel had got on, but their parents didn’t. And the next thing they knew Dipper and Mabel were being driven away far away from their home while their parents had gone to hide somewhere for the time-being. The car had driven near the forest at the edge of the city and were told to walk on their own with their luggage and don’t look back. They wandered for what it seemed for like hours, until they reached a cave in the middle of the forest, which Mabel had suggested. They set up camp and a fire (though Dipper had started it as Mabel was poor with matches and he feared she would burn the whole forest down), feeling hopelessly confused, lost and worried sick about their parents. Mabel grew worried that they were going to be alone in the forest for the rest of their lives. It wasn’t until a few days later both Dipper and Mabel learned they were soon not alone and found themselves facing some small creatures known as gnomes. At first, to them the gnomes seemed friendly by letting them live at their hideout at first but they soon after a while realized their true purpose: they needed someone as their queen and they wanted Mabel specifically to marry their leader. Though, Mabel refused this did not leave the gnomes satisfied. With their stuff, the twins had run out of the cave and had run right back into the forest with the gnomes chasing after them. They kept running and running until a golf cart came and rushing until something had grabbed them and found themselves on a golf-cart with an old man driving it driving them out safely farther away so the gnomes couldn’t find them. They found themselves at an old shack called where they soon learned that the old man was really their great uncle and that he had planned to come and meet them after their parents had informed them of the situation. It was that day Dipper learned to not trust anyone except for his great uncle Stan and twin sister and kept that promise for the next few years while they hid from whatever was after them. As the two twins, now twelve years old, remained there Dipper tried had to figure out how to control his telekinesis, however he realized he couldn’t continue doing it here in this old shack. Mabel suddenly remembered seeing some flyers and a commercial for a school located in Lunaville that was open to all magic and non-magic users. After some convincing from Stan, Dipper and Mabel were both on their way back to Lunaville, as soon as they applied to Arcane. They waited a few weeks until they finally got an answer from them and soon both Dipper and Mabel were on their way with new goals in mind.
