Occupation: Alchemy and Defense Against the Dark Arts Teacher at Arcane Magica Academy.
Personality: At first glance, Roy seems to be a shallow, self-absorbed man, which is infamous among the staff and students at Arcane as he can give off a rather selfish and narcissistic aura. Easily arrogant as his adopted son Edward, Mustang can act in an ostentatious manner and appears to act mostly out of self-interest rather than any sort of philanthropy. He comes off to most people, as sort of a cocky layabout and tends to procrastinate in his paperwork. He is expertly manipulative and prone to think several steps ahead of those around him. Roy also has the reputation of being an incorrigible womanizer as he spends half of his free time cavorting about the school and city with various women. Despite this his primary duty is primarily focused to his adopted sons, the faculty at Arcane and the students. Though he hides it well, Mustang cares deeply about the people who trusts and supports him and goes to great length to ensure their safety and wellbeing in the face of danger and would be willing to risk his own life in the process. He tends to display a penchant towards stubbornness in regards to his own pride and a fiery temper. Both of which has been shown to cloud his judgement in certain situations.
History: Roy Mustang was orphaned at a young age eventually adopted by Madame Christine Mustang, bringing him up with the intention of making him into a fine gentleman. In his teen years, Roy had discovered in his teens he had an ability to control fire. He eventually went on and attended Arcane Magica, while there he was able to find a way to control his fire magic. After graduation, Roy had been approached by Yuko, who offered him a place as a teacher, becoming one of the youngest teachers in the school. At some point during his time as a teacher, Roy was asked to find some students and see whether or not they would want to attend Arcane. When Roy visited the orphanage to look for potential students, a couple of them were Ryuko Matoi, and a girl with rainbow hair named Rainbow Dash. Roy came across two children named Edward and Alphonse Elric and learned that their mother had died and their father had disappeared without a trace when they were younger. Roy made a vow to make sure those two boys had a good home, so he made a promise to eventually come back for them. When he did, he learned that Edward had gotten himself into a bit of an accident losing both his arm and leg in the process and his younger brother Alphonse had health problems along with the two having special abilities of their own. Roy had realized what the two now needed was a stern parent in order to make sure they won’t get into any more harm. Despite being a teacher, Roy managed to convince the school board to let him adopt the two boys and continue teaching at the same time in hopes of being able to help control their abilities and have them attend Arcane School of Magic just like he once did.
