Oka felt her face twist into an slightly annoyed expression as she stretched up on a borrowed chair to grab a novel just out of her reach on the library-shelf. It really wasn't fair that the darn book was up so high.
After arriving at the school at night after a few days travel and settling into her dorm room with Oka meeting her room mate, a pretty girl named Bell Renjoji in the morning, the two had parted ways, wishing to go to different areas of the school. Oka had come to the Library, after asking a teacher where it was, to see if she would be able to find any books about shadow magic, and it's users. There was a chance there wasn't one, but she would still be able to check out other books about magic. Maybe she could even find a few horror-genres.
The book she was reaching for was a guide to the different types of magic, so Oka hoped to find more information about her own in there. If she could actually reach it, first...! The dark-haired girl knew she could use her magic to grab it, but she didn't know if that was necessarily allowed, so she didn't want to risk it. Besides, she wanted to grab the book with her own hands. That hard-cover, page-filled brick was practically declaring war by making it hard for her to grab it!
Just then, her fingers grazed the book's back and with a determined look in her eyes, Oka jumped a bit to grab it fully.
"Yes!" Oka crowed in victory. Her feet touched back down on the chair, and due to the sudden jar of weight, it began to wobble and then tip over. The dark-haired girl gained a comical expression of despair, her eyebrow twitching, "O-oh, no...!"
Oka went tumbling down with the chair, only for someone to grab her shoulders as she fell back into their chest and her make-shift stool clattered to the ground. She winced, hopefully that wouldn't attract attention.
The dark-haired girl looked up at the person who saved her from a hard, likely-bruising fall to the library floor. "T-thank you..."

Adrien had originally entered the library in search of Plagg. The little feline had ran off and Adrien could have swore he saw his pet entering in here. And right when he was on his way to the dorms to set off his stuff. The half human, half cat boy carefully walked inside, hoping he wouldn't draw to much attention to himself.
"Plagg! Plagg, where are you?" Adrien whispered quietly.
Even if pets were allowed in the dorm rooms and in certain parts of the school, he was sure pets won't allowed in the library. He was looking around the room when he noticed the dark haired girl and saw the chair she used had tipped over. Without even thinking, Adrien rushed over and caught the girl before she could hit the ground. He smiled when she looked up at him.
"You are very much welcome." Adrien said in relief. "Hope you didn't get hurt."

Oka stood straight up again with the boy's help, clutching her hard-won novel held against her chest by her arms. She shook her head a bit at his questioning her well-being. "N-no, I'm f-fine..." |

"I'm glad to hear that." Adrien said.
He took notice of the girl's shyness. May not be a good idea to flirt with her, that least until he was sure she could handler it and not get the wrong idea. After all, he didn't want to come off as pushy or anything of similar matter.
"If you don't mind me asking, what's your name? My name is Adrien Agreste." The cat boy said with a grin.

After all, he didn't want to come off as pushy or anything of similar matter. "If you don't mind me asking, what's your name? My name is Adrien Agreste." The cat boy said with a grin. Oka fidgeted as she answered Adrien, "M-my name is O-Oka Ruto. It's n-nice to meet y-you..." She internally sighed, wondering if perhaps this boy would find her weird like the boys back home did? But, this was a place where magic and the supernatural were normal, common daily occurrences, so she was most likely normal by this world's standards. That line of thought gave her more courage. |

She seemed pretty normal to him. A bit shy sure, but he figured that was normal for some people given the events going on at the school. After all, people from all over the world came to the school and most likely didn't know a lot of folks. He looked a bit sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Um, I'm sorry to ask this all of a sudden but did you see a black cat come in here?" Adrien asked, a bit curious.

Maybe she would be able to make her first friend with him? Only time would tell, though, but she was willing to be patient. The dark-haired girl perked up at the question. A black cat? She loved those! Unfortunately, she hadn't seen it, considering she was too preoccupied with getting the book. Oka was pretty sure if she had seen it, she would have been petting it already. "N-no, I didn't see a cat in here. I'm s-sorry..." Oka replied before a idea came to mind, "H-how about I help you look? I'm s-sure it couldn't have gotten f-far." |

"Sure, that would be a lot of help. Thank you." Adrien said. He nodded at the first part of the sentence. Oka gave a tentative smile when Adrien thanked her for offering to help. Despite being as socially awkward and shy as she was, she had never been shy enough to not offer to help someone when she saw that they needed it. Despite just meeting Adrien, she wanted to help him find his cat, not only so he didn't possibly get in trouble for letting it out of his room, but also so she could repay the blonde for saving her from falling. "T-then let's get started. I'm sure your cat c-can't be too f-far..." Oka said. |

The black cat wouldn't truly hurt them. The two began their search, softly calling out for the cat. It wouldn't be good if someone found them looking the feline, especially if that someone was a teacher. Oka peered down an aisle in hopes of seeing the black-furred pet, her messy hair falling into her eyes, making her use a hand to pull it back from her face. "H-here, kitty, kitty..." The dark-haired girl said, trying to coax the cat from it's hiding spot...wherever that was. |

She was certain that the cat would have made some sort of noise by now, a meow, or a chitter. But no, nothing. Oka sweatdropped as she looked down more aisles, with no further signs of the cat. She wondered how Adrien managed to keep track of it, if it was this good at hiding. |

A tickle of a small bell followed. Coming from another aisle very close by. It was most likely Plagg, the cat possible having heard the two and letting them know where he was.

Oka gasped when she heard the meow, running over to the aisle and smiling when she spotted the formerly-missing feline down it. "A-adrien! I think I f-found your cat!" Oka called out to the blonde, walking down the aisle to crouch down next to the black cat. She smiled and held out a hand for him to sniff. |

Adrien heard Oka and quickly came over. He smiled widely when he saw the black cat.
"There you are Plagg." Adrien said.
He kneed down to the cat's level. Plagg meowed again, almost like he was saying hello to his owner.

The cat sniffed Oka's hand and meowed again. He rubbed his head against her hand and purred a bit. Adrien heard Oka and quickly came over. He smiled widely when he saw the black cat. "There you are Plagg." Adrien said. He kneed down to the cat's level. Plagg meowed again, almost like he was saying hello to his owner. Oka smiled and petted the cat as he rubbed against her hand. He was clearly-well cared for and affectionate, which made Oka happy that Adrien was a good owner to the feline. When she heard the cat's name from the blonde boy, the dark-haired girl giggled a bit. "W-what a nice name you have, Plagg." Oka said. |

If she and Adrien became friends, she was gonna die of laughter from puns. |

He knew there were tons of other magic a lot more powerful and even more useful than his own. But even still, Adrien was glad to have his magic. It made him stand out a bit more.

She knew it had something to do with animals, due to how he translated for Plagg before. It was simple, but unique. Probably easier to control then her own magic, though it had become easier with her choker. She could tell he was curious about her magic, and since he told her his, it was only fair for her to return the favor. "I-I have s-shadow magic, it's k-kinda like fire or w-water magic." Oka explained. |

"W-well, there aren't m-many shadow m-magic users out there, s-so it's kinda hard to l-learn about it." Oka said. Her main reason for looking for elemental books was that she wanted to see if she could find out more about her magic, and maybe learn how to control it without needing her choker. While she did love the accessory, mainly due to her fashion sense, she would prefer if it were just that. An accessory, not something to control her volatile magic from running amok. The dark-haired girl let her fingers trace the choker, frowning a bit. |

Adrien looked concern when he saw the sudden change of Oka's mood. He wasn't trying to upset her or anything on the matter. Plagg seemed to sense the change of mood as well as he looked up at Oka with his bright green eyes and give a small meow in concern.
"I see...I'm sorry I wasn't trying to bring up any bad memories." Adrien said, trying to figure out the right words to say.
